On June 27, we travel together again

Next Friday, June 27, trains will once again run between the València Sud and Castelló stations, once the reconstruction process carried out in recent months has been completed, allowing the reopening of this section, corresponding to Metrovalencia lines 1, 2, and 7.

With the goal of providing service again, FGV is finalizing the necessary work and technical checks for the definitive reopening, following the floods of October 29.

Metrovalencia currently operates through 127 of its 147 stations, stops, and halts. On June 27, the 20 stations included in the València Sud-Castelló section will open. This section is approximately 50 kilometers long and crosses the Horta Sud and Ribera regions.

For this new operation, it was essential to renovate the workshop’s facilities and technical equipment and complete the renovation of the auxiliary access and traffic routes in València Sud; complete the reconstruction work on the bridge over the Poyo ravine and the new station building in Paiporta; and complete the renovation of the track, overhead lines, and communication systems affected along the out-of-service section.

Overall, the Generalitat is allocating more than €140 million to this complex reconstruction process. Work will continue in the coming months because, although service will be restored throughout the network on June 27, work must continue in València Sud, where the new Command Post will be installed.

On June 27, we travel together again.
