About FGV

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) was formed in 1986 after the culmination of the process of transferring to the Valencian Community the transport services operated in its territory by the company Ferrocarriles Españoles de Vía Estrecha (FEVE), which depended on the Central State Administration.

FGV is a public law company, with its own independent legal personality, subject to private law and is autonomous in its organisation, private assets and full capacity for carrying out its activities (Law of the Generalitat Valenciana 4/86).

FGV manages the passenger transport services and infrastructures of the narrow gauge and tramway lines that run through the Valencian Community. These services are provided through these two commercial brands:

  • Metrovalencia, which encompasses the network that covers the city of Valencia, its metropolitan area and catchment areas.
  • TRAM d’Alacant, whose network serves the city of Alicante, its metropolitan area and the Costa Blanca line.
